The Division of Community Education and Workforce Development Division includes a variety of departments, which are organized as follows:

  • Business and Community Institute (BCI)
    BCI offers corporate trainings to companies residing in the community such as project management, leadership, information technologies, and much more.

  • Center for Workforce Transition
    The Center for Workforce Transition works directly with Capital Area Michigan Works! (CAMW) and provides services to dislocated and otherwise unemployed workers seeking to navigate the job finding process in a troubling economy.

  • Continuing Education
    Building upon highly recognized academic programs at Lansing Community College, Continuing Education courses are designed to update your professional certification, continue your professional development, or gain additional professional certifications.

  • Community Education
    Our programs provide access to lifelong learning opportunities that connect LCC's strengths with our community's needs. Courses encompass both credit and non-credit educational offerings for adults in a wide spectrum of disciplines. Our Community Education courses explore a variety of topics that provide a vocational, leisure, youth development, and adult and senior enrichment opportunities.

  • Extension Centers
    An extension center is a satellite campus of LCC that offers a wide range of academic and non-credit class offerings to a particular locale or region. These centers include but are not limited to the following locations:
  • Small Business and Development Center (SBDC)
    The SBDC is an extension of a state program to promote entrepreneurship in Michigan. It offers helpful counseling and seminars for small business owners to be able to define, start, expand, and improve their businesses.

  • Youth Program
    Our goal is to offer your youth a wide variety of opportunities to enjoy high caliber academic pursuit in the fields of technology, science, math, engineering and the arts. Discovering a sense of wonder and enthusiasm for learning, our classes are designed with a maximum of hands-on involvement so that your student is inspired to strive for further academic investigation. The pursuit of knowledge is a life-long adventure. Youth Programs include:

    • A+ Summer Programs
    • Gifted and Talented Education (GATE)
    • Learn To Swim
