Mechatronics Program Guidelines

Mechatronics is an interdisciplinary field that combines electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, materials, robotics, and control systems. Mechatronics has applications in manufacturing, aeronautics, and any other industry that relies on automation.

This program will be offered in a non-traditional format as open entry open exit, modular, and competency-based. Learning modules are offered as a combination online plus lecture/in-person labs format. Read on for details on signing up, orientation sessions at Lansing Community College’s West Campus, and getting started on your learning journey.

Students should discuss all prior learning and experience with M-CAM staff before enrolling.

Mechantronics Program Guidelines: About the Curriculum

Courses are offered through AMTEC (Automotive Manufacturing Technical Education) and were designed to teach the technical and critical-thinking skills required to succeed in advanced manufacturing. The program is divided into units of study (modules). Each program has a different number of modules.

Modules include lessons online, hands-on labs that you’ll be doing at LCC West Campus, and assessments that teach the specific fundamental skills necessary for performing advanced manufacturing work. See details on lab location, hours, and curriculum guide below.
