Futures for Frontliners (F4F) is a scholarship program that gives Michiganders who risked their health and lives working during the Novel Coronavirus shutdown tuition-free access to public community colleges, like Lansing Community College.
The scholarship application opens in September and will apply to the spring 2021 semester and beyond. Qualified frontliners should follow the application steps below and contact the LCC Futures for Frontliners staff to get started. The scholarship can be used for any associate degree program and select certificate programs.

Do I Qualify?
The program is open to Michiganders without college degrees who worked frontline, essential jobs in the height of the COVID-19 crisis this past spring. Specifically, applicants must have worked at least half-time in 11 of 13 weeks from April 1 through June 30.
Essential workers include hospital and nursing home staff, grocery store workers, child care workers, critical infrastructure workers, people manufacturing personal protective equipment, workers protecting public safety, workers picking up trash and people delivering supplies.
How do I apply?
First, complete the Futures for Frontliners application online at Michigan.gov/frontliners.
Next, all applicants must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and begin the financial aid process. This will determine eligibility in addition to the work requirements.
