The professional Dental Hygiene program is an excellent two-year opportunity that prepares you for a challenging and rewarding industry. Upon program completion, you’ll earn an associate degree in dental hygiene, a “Hot 50” job in Michigan offering an average hourly wage of $28.67 an hour.

Our curriculum is taught using small group instruction with experienced and dedicated faculty providing hands-on training with state-of-the-art equipment, including dental hygiene clinical experience in our on-campus patient care clinic.

Dental hygienists provide primary preventive oral health care for patients in collaboration with the dentist. They provide educational, clinical, and therapeutic dental hygiene services to the public to help them obtain and maintain good oral and physical health. Clinical skills include performing patient assessments, exposing and processing dental radiographs, applying preventive materials to the teeth, removing calculus and plaque, oral disease screening, pain management, teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health, counseling patients regarding good nutrition and tobacco cessation and their impact on oral health, taking dental impressions, and performing office management activities.
